I just finished a great book. It was called Seaview Inn. It was written by Susan Wiggs. The main character, Hannah Matthews is recovering from breast cancer. Her mother just passed away from the same disease. She travels from her home in New York where she is a high powered advertising executive to the island of Seaview Key in Florida. She was raised on the small island in an inn that is across the street from the ocean. The reason for her return is so that she can put her aging grandmother in a retirement community. Much to her suprise and dismay, her Grandma refuses to go. Instead, with the help of her daughter, granddaughter and their male friends, they are able to remodel and reopen the old inn.

I read the entire House of Night Series by P.C. and Kristen Cast. I absolutley fell in love with the character Zoey because she reminds me of a younger version of myself. The characters are very well written and the action is pretty intense. If you don't like blood or gore you probably don't want to read these. i can't wait for the next one to come out!!

The Gunslinger by Stephen King is the first book of his Dark Tower series. Although not exactly ideal for young readers, it's still Awesome! It follows the world's last surviving "gunslinger" on his quest to find the "man in black" and ultimately the long-awaited Dark Tower. Check it out!

One of my favorite books from this summer was Slam by Nick Hornby. I really liked reading about the trials and tribulations of teen pregnancy from the boy's perspective.

I read two GREAT series this summer! The first was the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I was hooked from the very first page!! This series takes you into a world of fantasy that leads almost to the destruction of the world! I found the characters very relatable and realistic even within the fantasy genre!! I would find that I would just start reading these books and not realize that hours had gone by....it totally sucked me into its world! This is a great series for boys and girls alike!

The second series that I read over the summer was the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz. I am a huge vampire genre fan and I found this series very interesting as it ties some American history into the vampire world. As a history teacher it was neat to see an author also infuse historic facts with fantasy fiction. The next book in the series comes out on October 6, 2009 and the author is going to be in Wichita that day for the book release and a book signing!!! As my former students know, I LOVE to meet authors!!

Currently, I am reading the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson and it is rapidly becoming one of my favorite series!! I'll let you know as soon as I finish them!!

Oh, and for you Twilight fans...I went to Forks, Port Angeles and LaPush this summer!!! Talk about living a book!! Come by and see me sometime and I will share my adventures with you!! HAPPY READING!

Over the summer I read a book called "Every soul a star", & It is by Wendy Mass. It is a very good book that talks about 3 main characters that all have different personalities. Ally is a girl who is all about nature and loves the simpliest things in life, Bree is a very beautiful and popular girl who is all about fashion, & Jack is just a regular, oversized guy that loves to spend time alone with himself. They are all different, yet they slowly find out that they have more in common then they thought. This book can make people relate to them and it is a good book for ANYONE to read. It also shows that nothings better then being yourself. It talks about Family, Friendship, & a little about the solar eclipses. WARNING; Once you start reading it's going to be hard to put the book down.......

I Just finished a good book called Fridle. It was written by Andrew Clements.
He's an author of several picture book also. He taught in public schools near chicago 47 years.
My Summary about this book is about descovering the true nature of words, language thought, community learing.
My connection to this book is text to self because they used aword that there teacher didnt like. so they had to write it a hunderd times. Not saying that i have ever had to do it. So it would be text to world right.?
Recommendation\ I recommend this book because its a good book and it was an easy read for me. Also its an easy way to get your 25 books read by the end of the year..! Reaqan B.

I actually have read a book at the begining of the school year called "King Of The Mild Frontier". It was the first book I checked out and I loved it! It's in the Young Adults section and I would strongly recomend it to 8th grade boys. It is a auto-biography and unlike the other boring ones that have long chapter, this is funny and entertaining! Did you know "Esus saves" (insider if you read the book) ^_^

I read a book called 13 little blue envelopes by Maureen Johnson. It's kind of a chic-flick so I recommend it to all the girls. It's about a seventeen year old girl named Ginny who's aunt dies and Ginny is given 13 envelopes in which tell her to go somewhere or do something. I could not put it down. I was so curious as to what the next letter would say. So if you love a book with suspense, humor and a little romance, check it out!!

i have read the Twilight saga and let me tell you i'm still not over it. I always read those books. I think Stephine Meyers is very creative and adventures. If it wasn't for her i don't think i would like vampires and other things as much as i do. Those books make me feellike i'm actully there. You can just hope into the books and never come out because it's just to great. I really injoys these books. You should go read them.

I just read "The Revealers" by Wilhelm. It is a great book. It is about a group of 8th grade students who decide they have had enough of being bullied by the popular kids. They change the entire school by their actions. It is inspiring and also talks about Anne Frank and how if she could've done what they did she may have been able to change her situation sooner. I recommend it to any one who likes a great hero story. It proves that young people can change the world if they want to work to do it.

I just finished a good book. It was called The Tale of Desperaux. it was writen by Kate Dicamillo.
The main charcters were Desperaux, princess pea, the mice council, and the rats. a mouse who is in love with music, stories, and a princess named Pea. It is also the story of a rat called Roscuro, who lives in the darkness and covets a world filled with light. And it is the story of Miggery Sow, a slow-witted serving girl who harbors a simple, impossible wish. These three characters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and, ultimately, into each other’s lives.
